Tax assistance volunteers needed
Millions of dollars in tax credits go unclaimed each year because people don't know they are eligible. You can help those individuals by volunteering through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program organized by the BE$T* Coalition of South Central Kansas. VITA volunteers help people apply for Earned Income Tax Credits and other eligible tax credits. The program serves Sedgwick, Butler, Cowley, and Marion counties.
More than 200 volunteers are needed to assist people with low-to-moderate incomes.
- No experience needed
- Free tax preparer volunteer training will be provided
- Volunteers will be certified by the IRS and have on-going support at the VITA site
- Additional volunteer positions include: greeters and site coordinators (need to be a certified tax preparer)
- Volunteers may select their preferred VITA site
