- Display of artwork done by preschoolers in the program—drawings were to be related to reading or a favorite book
- Bank of the West will provide free book bags with a free book
- Preschool children in graduation caps and gowns will be posing with their families for photographs

United Way is taking appointments this week for the Laid-Off Workers Center’s Jan. session
WICHITA, Kan. Dec. 13, 2010—United Way of the Plains is taking calls Dec. 13 - 17 to set up appointments for the Laid-Off Workers Center’s January session. To set up an appointment, individuals must call United Way’s information number by dialing 2‑1‑1 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. (this is a toll-free number). The deadline to call for an appointment for the January session is Friday, Dec. 17. The center will be open on a monthly basis as needed beyond January.

United Way exceeds goal of $15 million
WICHITA, Kan., Nov. 19, 2010 —United Way of the Plains announced today a total of $15,050,755 raised during the 2010 campaign—topping the goal of $15,000,000. United Way revealed its fundraising total to a crowd of nearly 900 volunteers, company representatives and other supporters during its Campaign Victory Luncheon at Century II Convention Hall.
